Kwa muda mrefu  migogoro na ukandamizaji, vimefanywa sana na serikali ya CCM hasa katika awamu ya tano. Maridhiano hulenga kurejesha uhusiano wa kidemokrasia lakini katika hili tumeona wazi halikuwa dhumuni la CCM. Jinsi maridhiano yalivyoendeshwa hayakuwa shirikishi kwa wananchi kwani yalihusisha chama kimoja tuu CHADEMA. Mapendekezo ya viongozi wa dini, mashirika yasiyo ya kiserikali na vyama vingine vya kisiasa na wananchi hayakuhusishwa.

Baadhi ya mambo yaliyojadiliwa katika maridhiano haya ni pamoja na kufanywa kwa marekebisho ya sheria mbalimbali zinazohusu masuala ya kisiasa ambapo kwa sasa tunaona miswada iliyoletwa na serikali ikiwemo Muswada wa Sheria ya Uchaguzi wa Rais, wabunge na madiwani wa mwaka 2023, Muswada wa Sheria ya Tume ya Taifa ya Uchaguzi wa mwaka 2023, na Muswada wa Marekebisho ya Sheria za Vyama vya Siasa wa 2023 haijalenga kuleta mabadiliko chanya katika kujenga demokrasia yetu. Swala la kukwamua mchakato wa Katiba Mpya pia ni swala ambalo lilijadiliwa katika maridhiano lakini serikali ya CCM bado haipo tayari kurejea na mchakato huu. 

Wananchi wameona kuwa serikali ya CCM haikuwa na nia ya dhati ya maridhiano bali kutumia mchakato kama njia ya kusogeza muda mbele ili uchaguzi ufanyike bila mabadiliko yoyote, kuwapunguza kelele wananchi na wanasiasa wa upinzani katika harakati za kudai katiba mpya. CCM na serikali ni kitu kimoja hivyo vitendo vinavyofanywa nchini ni kwa ajili ya CCM na maslahi yao.

For a long time, conflicts and oppression have been inflicted upon the people by the CCM government, especially in the fifth phase government. Reconciliation aims to restore democratic relations but in this we have clearly seen that it was not the purpose of CCM. The way reconciliation was conducted was not participatory for the people as it involved only one party, CHADEMA. The proposals from religious leaders, non-governmental organizations and other political parties and citizens were not included. Some of the issues discussed in this reconciliation include the Bill for the National Electoral Commission,  the President, Parliamentarians and Councilors Bill and the Political Parties Affairs Bill of 2023 are not aimed at bringing about positive changes towards building our democracy. The issue of reviving the constitution making process is also an issue that was discussed in the reconciliation but the CCM government is still not ready to return to this process.

The citizens have seen that the CCM government had no sincere intention of reconciliation but to use the process as a way to move time forward so that the elections can be held without any changes, to reduce the noise of the citizens and opposition politicians in the demands for a new constitution. CCM and the government are one thing, so the actions done in the country are to further favor the interests of the ruling party, CCM.
