Ili nchi iweze kuendelea ni lazima iwe na mifumo thabiti ya kisheria, moja ya mfumo mkubwa wa kisheria kuliko yote ni katiba. Katiba ya sasa ina mianya mingi ya mfumo kuingiliana kufanya ugumu katika ukaguzi na uwajibikaji. Inatoa mwanya kwa viongozi waliopo madarakani kuweza kuchezea mifumo iliyopo kwa manufaa yao kwa kuwa haina uwajibaji ndani yake. Katiba yetu haijazingatia haki za binadamu kikamilifu kiasi cha kuwa ni katiba yenye vifungu vya kulinda haki hizo na vifungu vingine vinavyoondoa haki hizo. Wananchi wameporwa mamalaka yao na viongozi wasio na dira ya wapi wanaipeleka nchi. Tumeshuhudia kura kuibiwa katika uchaguzi na wananchi hawapati viongozi waliowachagua. Hii imepelekea uwepo wa uongozi usio na nia ya kuwaendeleza wananchi wake bali uongozi unaopigania maslahi ya waliopo madarakani. 

Tukiwa na #KatibaMpya na Katiba bora, tutakua na ushindani wa kweli katika uchaguzi na wananchi watachagua viongozi wanaowataka. Katiba ya sasa hivi inampa Rais mamlaka makubwa sana, na kumfanya kuwa mungu mtu. Ili tutoke hapa ni lazima tupate #KatibaMpya. CCM hawako tayari kuona mabadiliko ya katiba mpya yanatokea leo wala kesho hivyo kutaka kutumia katiba hii mbovu kupora uchaguzi wa 2025 ili waendelee kututawala. Kama wananchi lazima tutambue kuwa tumeporwa mamalaka na tutambue kuwa #KatibaMpya ndio suluhu ya mabadiliko, hivyo tuongeze nguvu katika harakati za kudai #KatibaMpya.

A modern state cannot exist without strong legal systems, and the biggest legal system is the constitution. The current constitution has many loopholes in the system that interact to make it difficult for checks and accountability. It gives an opening for the leaders in power to be able to manipulate the existing systems for their own benefit because there are no elements of accountability in it. Our constitution does not fully consider human rights as the very same constitution with articles that protect those rights, has other articles that eliminate those very same rights. 

Citizens have been robbed of their powers by leaders who have no vision of where they are steering the country. We have witnessed votes being stolen during elections and the people not getting the leaders they elected. This has led to the existence of a leadership that does not take to heart the development of its citizens but rather one that fights for the interests of those in power. With a new and a better Constitution, we will have real competition in the elections and the people will choose the leaders they want. The current constitution gives the President enormous powers, making her a god-man. CCM is not ready to see changes to the new constitution happen today or tomorrow, so they can exploit the existing constitution to loot the 2025 elections and ensure their rule. As citizens, we must realize that we have been robbed of our powers and realize that a new constitution is the solution for change, so we should direct our efforts in the movement to demand New Constitution.
