Sakata la bandari limeweka wazi kuwa wananchi hawana usemi juu ya serikali yao. Serikali haijali maoni ya wananchi ambao ndio wenye mamlaka ya kweli. Tumeshuhudia wananchi wenzetu wakitishiwa vya kutoa maoni yao juu ya mkataba wa bandari ambao umepingwa na wengi kuwa mkataba mbovu usio na tija kwa Taifa. Wananchi wameingizwa uwoga kwamba hawawezi kuingia barabarani na kuandamana kama njia ya amani ya kupata haki. Katiba ni sasa na kila mtu katika nafasi yake atimize wajibu wake katika kuhakikisha nchi inapata katiba mpya kwani ndio kiini cha mambo yote yanayofanyika na serikali ya sasa nchini.

Nyerere aliwahi kusema ili nchi iweze kuendelea inahitaji mambo manne ambayo ni; ardhi, watu , siasa safi na uongozi bora. Uongozi bora hauwezi kupatikana kwa njia za kijambazi kama ilivyo tulivyoshuhudia kwenye uchaguzi wa 2020. Katiba yetu inabidi iakisi mfumo wa vyama vingi ili vyama vijngi viweze kuendesha shughuli zake kwa usataarabu na kwa kutoonekana kuwa na pande za uhaini na uzalendo. Hivi karibuni tumeshuhudia Rais Samia kufanya uteuzi wa mawaziri na kuleta nafasi mpya na Naibu waziri Mkuu ambaye atakua na kazi za usinmamizi za shughuli za serikali ya muungano wa Tanzania, shughuli ambayo ni kazi ya Waziri Mkuu

Hii ni uvunjifu wa katiba ya nchi, kwani alitakiwa aseme kuwa tamsaidia waziri mkuu. Watanzania wamebaki wakiuliza kwa nini hiyo ofisi imeanzishwa? Nchi yetu imkekua na viongozi wa ovyo kuliko kipindi chochote kile. Viongozi hawasikilizi watu, hawajali watu,. Watanzania wananyanganywa ardhi na kupoteza rasilimali kwa viuongozi walio madarakani. Ni katiba mpya pekee itakayoondoa ombwe la uongozi. Wananchi wanahitaji kuacha uwoga na kupigania mabadiliko yatakayoleta maendeleo ya wananchi na nchi kwa ujumla.

The port saga has made it clear that the people have no say over their government. The government does not care about the opinions of the people with whom real power emanates from. We have witnessed our fellow citizens being threatened by simply exercising their right to express their opinions over the ongoing discussion on the port contract between DP World and Tanzania which has been opposed by many as being a contract agreement that does not have genuine intentions of developing our country. Citizens have been instilled with fear by the government that they cannot undertake peaceful demonstrations as a peaceful way to seek justice. The need for a new constitution is now and Tanzanians in their position should fulfill their responsibilities in ensuring the country gets a new constitution as it is the essence of all the evil things done by the current government.

Nyerere once said that in order for the country to thrive it needs four things which are; land, its people, clean politics and good leadership. Good leadership cannot be obtained through thuggish methods as we witnessed during the 2020 election. Our constitution must reflect the multi-party system so that the various political parties can conduct their activities civilly and without appearing to be treasonous. We have recently witnessed President Samia appointing new ministers and bringing in a new position of the Deputy Prime Minister who will be responsible for managing the activities of the union government, a job description that entails the job of the Prime Minister.

 This is a violation of the country's constitution, as the new position was to entail a different job description from that of the Prime Minister. Tanzanians are questioning why the new office was established? Our country has careless leaders more than any other period of the past. Leaders do not listen to the opinions of the people, they do not care about their people. Tanzanians are being robbed of land and losing their resources to the leaders in power. Only a new constitution will remove the void in the current leadership. Citizens need to stop being afraid and fight for changes that will bring about their development and the country as a whole.
