Pamoja na wananchi kuupinga mkataba wa bandari baina ya serikali ya Tanzania na DP World, Serikali kupitia bunge ilipitisha makubaliano hayo bila ya kuhusisha maoni ya wananchi. Oktoba 22, 2023 serikali imesaini mikataba mitatu ya uwekezaji na uendeshaji bandari ya Dar-es-Salaam baina yake na DP World. Wananchi wamehoji kitendo hiki kwa serikali kwani wananchi walitoa maoni juu ya mapungufu ya mkataba huu wa bandari na kupendekeza marekebisho yafanyike au serikali iufutilie mbali kabisa. Serikali imezima maoni ya wananchi ili kufanya wanachotaka kwa kusaini mikataba hiyo mitatu imeonyesha wazi kuwa hakuna mabadiliko yeyote yamefanyika katika mkataba huwo kwani kama marekebisho yalifanyika kwa maandishi mkataba huwo ungeletwa kwa wananchi.

 Serikali imewaweka wananchi katika pahali pagumu kwani tulipofikia ni kati ya watanzania kukubali kuwa na DP World kwa muda mrefu au kuamua kuvunja mkataba na kuwalipa fedha nyingi ambazo kama nchi hatuna. Kwa kusaini mikataba hiyo imeanzisha rasmi uwepo wa DP World nchini kwa miaka 30 na baada ya miaka 30 inabidi ipewe mkataba mwingine tena na ukomo wa DP World ni endapo tuu itaamua yenyewe kusitisha uwepo wake. Hivyo mkataba huu ni wa maisha. Wananchi wamebaki na msimamo wao wa kuukataa mkataba wa Dubai na baadhi ya wananchi wanaona ni bora kuvunja mkataba ili tujue kuwa tutalipa gharama ya kuvunja mkataba kuliko kuendelea na mkataba usiokuwa na mwisho. Bila wananchi kusimama katika umoja wetu wa kudai katiba mpya hatutaweza kulinda rasilimali za nchi yetu kwa ajili yetu na vizazi vyetu. Wananchi waendelee kupiga kelele na harakati ziendelee kupamba moto kuliko hapo mwanzo.

Despite the people's opposition to the port agreement between the Tanzanian government and DP World, the Government through parliament passed the agreement without involving the opinions of the people. On October 22, 2023, the government signed three contracts for investment and operation of the port of Dar-es-Salaam between itself and DP World. The citizens have questioned this action to the government as the citizens expressed their views on the limitations of this port agreement and suggested that amendments should be made or the government should cancel it completely.

 The government has shut down the opinions of the people in order to do what they want. By signing the three contracts, it has clearly shown that no changes have been made in the agreement because if amendments were made in writing, the agreement would have been brought to the people through the parliament. The government has put the people in a difficult position because as a country we can only choose between accepting to have DP World for a long time or to decide to break the contract and pay them a lot of money which as a country we do not have. By signing the agreements, it has officially established the presence of DP World in the country for 30 years and a contract renewal after that. Hence only DP World can decide on the time limit to ending its presence in the country. In other words, it is a lifetime contract and so are its repercussions. The citizens continue to maintain their stand against the DP World contract and some citizens think it is better to break the contract and pay the cost of breaking the contract than continuing with an endless contract. Without the citizens standing in our unity to demand a new constitution, we will not be able to protect our country's resources for us and our generations. Thus, citizens should continue to shout for and the movement for a new constitution should continue to be more intense than before.
