Sakata la bandari limeweka wazi kuwa sheria za nchi zinafwata tuu endapo zinatimiza matakwa ya serikali. Vyombo vya habari vimenyamazishwa kuripoti ukweli juu ya sakata la bandari na badala yake vimekuwa vikiripoti habari moja ya kuunga mkono serikali. Wananchi wanasema hawaoni dhamira ya dhati ya CCM kuleta muafaka wa kitaifa kwani mchakato wa maridhiano haukuhusisha wananchi kwa maana ya taasisi mbalimbali; kwani  kuna watuwalitekwa, kupigiwa watu risasi hadharani, kubambikiza watu kesi na chaguzi ziliibwa, bureau de exchange zilivamiwa, wafanyabiashara waliumizwa, NGOs zilivamiwa na kuundiwa sheria kandamizi.  Kupitia sakata la bandari tumeona haya yakiendelea kufanyika.

CCM imeendelea kutumia vyombo vya dola kufanikisha matakwa yake. Pamoja na wananchi kuupinga mkataba wa bandari na DP World, Serikali imekua ikitumia nguvu kuhakikisha kuwa wananchi wanaunga mkono mkataba huu na wananchi walioupinga wametishiwa kwa kutoa maoni yao. Katika sakata hili la bandari tumeshuhudia pia Rais akivunja Katiba wazi wazi na kupuuzia maoni ya wananchi. Sakata la bandari imedhihirisha jinsi nchi yetu inaendeshwa kwa mifumo mibovu inayofanya kazi kwa fadhila ya Rais. Kama watanzania tunahitaji uhuru wa kweli, taasisi imara, sheria na Katiba zitakazolinda maslahi ya wananchi.

The port saga has made it clear that the laws of the country are followed only if they fulfill the government's wishes. The media has been silenced to report the truth about the port saga and instead has been reporting the same news that are sided with what the government wants to achieve. Citizens do not see the sincere intention of Chama Cha Mapinduzi to bring about  national reconciliation because the reconciliation process did not involve the citizens from various institutions; because people were kidnapped, shot in public, people were arrested, cases and elections were stolen, bureau de exchange were attacked, businessmen were hurt, NGOs were attacked and oppressive laws were created. Through the saga of the port we have seen this continue to happen.

CCM has continued to use state instruments to achieve its wishes. With citizens opposing the port agreement with DP World, the Government has been using force to ensure that citizens support this agreement and citizens who have publicly given out their opinions have been threatened for expressing their opinions. In this port saga, we have also witnessed the President clearly breaking the Constitution and ignoring the opinions of the people. The port saga has revealed how our country is run by corrupt systems that work at the benevolence of the President. As Tanzanians, we need true freedom, strong institutions, laws and the Constitution that will protect the interests of the people.
