Waraka wa Baraza la Maaskofu Katoliki (TEC ) uliotolewa Agosti 18, 2023 , kupinga mkataba wa Bandari kati ya Tanzania na Dubai. Waraka huo uliopewa jina la “Sauti ya Watu, Sauti ya Mungu” umeitaka serikali kuwasikiliza wananchi kwa kusitisha utekelezaji wa Mkataba uendeshaji bandari za Tanzania ulioridhiwa na Bunge Juni 10, 2023. Tamko hili lilisainiwa na Maaskofu 37. Wananchi wameipongeza TEC kwa hatua ya kijasiri ya kusimama pamoja na wananchi katika swala hili kwani viongozi na taasisi mbalimbali wameshindwa kufanya hivyo kwa kuogopa vitisho vinavyotolewa na Serikali yetu. 

Waandishi wa habari ni moja kati ya vyombo vilivyofumbia macho juu ya skata hili la bandari kwani vimekuwa vikiripoti kutoka upande wa Serikali tuu na kutupilia mbali maoni ya wananchi. Kufuatia hii, wananchi wamemsihi Waziri wa Habari ajiuzulu kwa kuwa ameshindwa kuhoji kwa nini waandishi wa habari wameshindwa kuihoji serikali juu ya mkataba huu. Wananchi pia wamewasihi makanisa mengine na dini nyingine kuunga mkono TEC kwa kutoa matamko yao. Wananchi ndio wenye mamlaka na hivyo serikali inabidi ifuate matakwa ya wananchi. Rais na serikali yake ikubali kuambiwa ukweli kwani ukweli huinua taifa.

The Tanzania Episcopical Conference (TEC) of Catholic Bishops issued a declaration on August 18, 2023, opposing the Port contract agreement between Tanzania and DP World company from Dubai. The declaration document named "Voice of the People, Voice of God"called on the government to listen and act upon the opinions of the people by suspending the implementation of the contract signed with DP World on the operation of Tanzania's ports approved by Parliament on June 10, 2023. This declaration was signed by 37 Bishops standing together with the people in this issue as various leaders and institutions have failed to do so for fear of threats issued by our Government.

 Journalists are one of the agencies that have turned a blind eye to this port investment saga as they have been reporting from the side of the Government only praising the DP World contract and discarding the views of the people. Following this, the people have urged the Minister of Information to resign because he has failed to question journalists on their inability to question the government on citizens behalf concerning the fallouts of this contract. Citizens have also urged other churches and other religions to support TEC by issuing their declarations. The people are sole owners of their resources and have the power to decide, hence the government has to follow the wishes of the people. The president and his government should accept being told the truth because it is only the truth that can lift the nation from the current stage to a better one.
