Matatizo ya matumizi mabaya ya  rasilimali zetu chimbuko lake ni katiba mbovu tuliyonayo. Kupitia katiba tuliyonayo, rasilimali haziwanufaishe wananchi bali walio kwenye madaraka. Serikali inaingia mikataba mibovu na sehemu ambayo haina sifa ya kuingia mikataba ya kimataifa, inatoa ruhusa kwa wageni kuwinda kweye hifadhi zetu za taifa na hii yote ni kwa gharama ya wananchi na vizazi vijavyo. Serikali yetu imekua ikiwaza itanufaika nini na sio nchi itafaidika na nini. Serikali inakuwa inafanya mambo yasiyoeleweka na lawama anastahili mwananchi, kwani umma unaoujua haki na kweli Serikali isigeweza kufanya mchezo kama inavyofanya sasa nchini. Kumekuwa na matukio mengi ambayo wananchi tumeyakalia kimya bila kuchukua hatua, ni wakati wa kuamka kupata #KatibaMpya. 

Watanzania wanatakiwa kujua kuwa chochote kinachotokea katika serikali kinaathiri maisha yetu ya kila siku iwe chanya au hasi. Ni muda wa kila mtanzania kuonyesha mchango wake katika kuleta mabadiliko nchini. Tutabaki maskini kwa ajili ya uzembe wetu wananchi kwa kushindwa kuiwajibisha serikali kwani wawakilishi tuliowachagua wanatumia nguvu yao wanavyotaka kwa kuwa katiba haimpi mwananchi mamlaka yake kikamilifu. #KatibaMpya itatusaidia kupata viongozi sahihi wa kulinda rasilimali zetu na haki za wananchi.

ENGLISH VERSION

Problems arising from the misuse of our resources originate from the bad constitution we have. Through the constitution we have, the country’s resources do not benefit the people but those in power. The government enters into bad unbeneficial contracts and sometimes in resources that should only remain under the country’s ownership, it gives permission to foreigners to hunt in our national reserves and all this happens at the expense of the citizens and our future generations. Our government has grown up to think about what it will benefit from the resources and not what the country and its people will benefit from. 

The government does things that are not understood and the citizens deserve the blame, because as the public it often knows the truth but chooses to remain silent and not act upon it. Were as if the public did not turn a blind eye to  the misdeeds of the government, the government would not be able to toy with the country’s resources as it is currently doing. There have been many incidents in which citizens have been silent without taking action, it is time to wake up and demand for a new constitution. Tanzanians need to know that whatever happens in the government affects our daily lives whether positive or negative. It is time for every Tanzanian to show his/her contribution in bringing about change in the country. We will remain poor because we simply fail to hold the government accountable because the representatives we elected are misusing their power because the constitution does not give the citizens his full power to hold them accountable. #A new constitution will help us find the right leaders to protect who will be good stewards to our resources and ensure that all human rights are observed.
