Tanzania haina sheria nzuri za usimamizi wa rasilimali za nchi. Hii imeonekana kwenye matukio mbalimbali yanayojitokeza ikiwemo sakata linaloendelea la azimio baina ya Tanzania na Dubai Port World. Azimio hilo haujawa wa wazi hivyo kupeleka watanzania wengi kuibuka na tafsiri tofauti tofauti. Wananchi wametoa maoni yao wakisema kuwa azimio hilo limeandaliwa kimkakati. Hivi karibuni imeibuka hoja kuwa kilichosainiwa na viongozi wetu ni makubaliano ya awali na si mkataba lakini wasiwasi na hofu kwa wananchi bado umeenea wakiogopa kile kinachosemekana kuwa nchi yetu imeuzwa kwani hata makubaliano ya awali yanaweza kutumika kuelekeza kile kitakachokubaliwa.   

Tumeshuhudia nchi nyingi zenye machafuko zimetokana na serikali za nchi hizo kupuuza wananchi wake kwenye maswala yanayohusu rasilimali za nchi. Hivyo, hakuna jambo zuri kama mkataba wa nchi ukahusisha wananchi. Ikiwa wananchi wameshapata taarifa juu ya mkataba huo, wamekubaliana kuwa ni muda wa kupendekeza maoni yao rasmi juu ya makubaliano hayo. Kama kweli Serikali imeingia kwenye makubaliano haya ikiwa na dhamira ya dhati ya kuleta manufaa kwa wananchi wake; inabidi ielimishe jamii juu ya swala hili pamoja na kuweka wazi taarifa za makubaliano na faida inayotegemewa kupatikana kwa nchi.  Hili litajenga uaminifu baina ya Rais na wananchi juu ya kile anachokifanya.

Tanzania does not have good laws in place to protect and manage the country's resources. This has been seen in various events that have taken place in the past together with the ongoing resolution saga between Tanzania and Dubai Port World concerning agreements to run Tanzania’s ports. The terms of the agreement have not been clear hence leaving room for Tanzanians to come up with different interpretations. The citizens have expressed their opinion saying that the resolution has been prepared strategically to benefit the few while leaving out the people. Recently, there has been an argument that what was signed between our leaders and representatives from DP World is just a memorandum of understanding and not the final contract but anxiety and fear has spread among the people fearing what has been a popular opinion that our country has been sold as even the preliminary agreements are used to direct what will be agreed.

We have witnessed many countries with chaos due to the government's negligence of their citizens on issues related to their country's resources. Therefore, there is nothing as good as involving the citizens in matters regarding their resources. Tanzanians have agreed that it is time that they aired out their official opinions on the agreement. The citizens have also stated that if the Government has entered into this agreement with a sincere intention to bring benefits to its citizens; it has to educate its people on this issue as well as make available clear information of the agreement and the expected benefit to the country. This will help build trust between the President and the people on what she is doing.
