Katiba ya sasa imekandamiza haki za binadamu na kukosa njia ya kuwawajibishaji viongozi pale wanapokosea. Wananchi wa Tanzania wameonekana kukaa kando na kuachia wanasiasa kupaza sauti juu ya hitaji la #KatibaMpya. Serikali yetu tangu iridhie na mchakato wa #KatibaMpya bado haijachukua hatua zozote zile zinazotambulika kisheria ili kuhalalisha muwanzo au muendelezo wa mchakato huo. Mchakato wa kupata #KatibaMpya ni jukumu la pamoja na sio wa kuachia chama kimoja au kikundi kimoja cha watu.
Ili kufanikisha mchakato huu, watanzania kwa umoja bila kujali itikadi za chama wala siasa, waungane ili kuongeza nguvu katika madai haya. Wanamuziki, mashirika yasiyo ya kiserikali, waandishi wa habari pamoja na viongozi wa dini wachukue nafasi zao na watumie majukwaa yao katika kuelimisha jamii juu ya umuhimu wa kupata #KatibaMpya. Wananchi wote kwa ujumla wawe sehemu ya kuelimisha jamii inayowazunguka kwa jinsi ambavyo #KatibaMpya itasaidia kutatua changamoto wanazopitia sasa na jinsi itakavyoboresha maisha yetu wote kama Taifa.

The current constitution has suppressed human rights and lacks ways to hold leaders accountable when they are wrong. The people of Tanzania have been seen to sit aside and leave the demand for a new constitution to politicians to raise their voices on the matter. Our government, since agreeing to resume the constitution process, has not yet taken any steps to legally justify the beginning or continuation of the constitution making process. The process of obtaining a new constitution is a collective responsibility and should not be left to one party or one group of people.
In order to achieve a new constitution, Tanzanians, regardless of their political party or political ideology, should unite to increase the strength of these claims. Musicians, Non-Governmental Organizations, journalists and religious leaders should take their place and use their platforms to educate the community on the importance of obtaining a new constitution. All citizens in general should be part of educating the community around them on how a new constitution will help solve the challenges they are currently facing and how it will improve everyone’s life as a nation.
