Serikali yetu imekuwa ikitumia dola kukandamiza haki za watu. Haki za watu wengi zinapotea kwa makosa ambayo hayapo kwani watu wamekuwa wakipewa kesi bila makosa yeyote.Tumeona mifano mingi katika jamii yetu hasa kwa wanasiasa wa vyama vya upinzani na wanaharakati. Serikali imetumia dola kusimamisha haki ya vyama vya siasa kufanya mikutano ya hadhara, kuzia vyama vya upinzani kufanya kampeni zao kipindi cha uchaguzi na kudhulumu haki ya wananchi wengi kwa maslahi yake ya kiuchumi mfano mzuri ukiwa kutumia dola kuhamisha wakazi wa Loliondo na Ngorongoro na Mbarali kutoka kwenye maeneo yao. 

Hakuna uhuru wa habari nchini kwani Serikali imetumia dola kunyamazisha vyombo vya habari kuripoti mambo ambayo yanayofichua maovu ya serikali. Viongozi mbalimbali wa serikali wameonya wananchi kutoisema vibaya serikali wala viongozi wake na kutishia kuwa nguvu ya dola itatumika kuwashughulikia. Wananchi wamekubaliana kuwa nchi yetu haiwezi kubadilika bila utawala bora. Hivyo madai ya katiba mpya yaendelee kwani tunahitaji katiba mpya itakayo hakikisha uwepo wa utawala bora na kuwa mifumo ya haki inatoa haki.

Our government has been using the power of the state to suppress people's rights. Many people's rights are being lost for mistakes that do not exist as people have been given cases without having committed any crimes before the law. We have seen this happening to opposition politicians and activists. The government has used state powers to suspend the right of opposition political parties to hold their public political rallies and meetings as well as preventing them from conducting their campaigns during the election period. State powers were also used to  abuse the rights of many citizens for the state's sinister economic interests. A good example is seen in the government’s action of forcefully relocating the residents of Loliondo and Ngorongoro and Mbarali. In the process a number of citizens' lives were lost and some were left injured.
There is no freedom of information in the country because the Government has used its state power to silence the media from reporting sensitive issues that reveal the evils committed by the government. Various government leaders have publicly warned citizens not to speak badly of the government or its leaders and threatened that the power of state will be used to deal with them. Citizens have agreed that change in our country will not be achieved without good governance. So citizens' demand for a new constitution should continue so that we can get a new constitution that will ensure the existence of good governance and that justice is achieved through the justice systems.
