Tozo zilizowekwa na serikali zimekuwa nyingi na mzigo kwa wananchi. Tangu serikali ilipoanza kuongeza tozo wananchi wamekuwa wakipaza sauti kuzikemea kwani hazijafuata kanuni za kodi ili ziwe halali. Hivyo, Serikali inachofanya ni uporaji kwa njia ambazo si halali. Wananchi wengi walipiga kelele kwani tozo zimekuwa mzigo hasa kwa wananchi wa kawaida. Tozo za kwenye miamala ya simu yamesababisha wananchi wanaotegemea biashara ya kutuma pesa kwa mitandao ya simu kufunga biashara kwani faida ndogo waliyokuwa wanapatahawaioni tena sababu watu wamepunguza kutuma pesa kwa njia ya mtandao kwa kuogopa tozo. Wananchi hawataki tozo, hivyo kwa serikali kupunguza tozo halitatui tatizo. Tunaambiwa kodi zinatumika kuboresha maisha ya watu lakini mpaka sasa havina huduma za msingi kama maji. Pamoja na nchi yetu kujaliwa na rasilimali nyingi wananchi wamehoji wenda tozo ni njia pekee ya serikali kupata kipato chake. Hali hii imeacha wananchi wakihoji kama kweli bunge tulilonalo ni kwa ajili ya manufaa ya wananchi kwani limekuwa chombo kinachotumika kutimiza matakwa ya serikali. Lazima madai ya katiba mpya yaendelee ili kurudisha nguvu kwa wananchi waweze kuwawajibisha viongozi wake. Wananchi walipongeza uwanja huu wa Maria space kwa kuweza kuwa jukwaa lililosaidia wananchi kupaza sauti zao juu ya tozo.

The fees imposed by the government have been many and a burden on the citizens. Ever since the government started imposing a series of tax charges, citizens have raised their voices against them because they have not followed taxation principles to make them valid. Thus, what the government is doing is looting in ways that are not legal. Many citizens raised their voices because the tax charges have become burdensome especially for ordinary citizens with low income. Tax charges on  mobile money transactions have led to the closure of some businesses by mobile money agents whose profits have immensely dropped as citizens have withhold from using this service in fear of the tax charges recently introduced. Citizens do not want the tax charges, hence for the government to reduce the tax charges rates does not solve the problem. Citizens are told that tax charges collected will be used to improve people's lives but until now some citizens do not have basic services like water. Even though our country is endowed with many resources, citizens have questioned whether taxes are the only way for the government to get its income. This situation has left people questioning whether the parliament we have is really for the benefit of the people as it has become an instrument used to fulfill the wishes of the government. Citizens agree that the demand for a new constitution must continue in order to return power back to the people so that they can hold their leaders accountable. Citizens praised this Maria space platform for being able to be a platform that helped amplify citizens' voices on the matter.
