Serikali imekua ikitunga sheria kwa ajili yake na si kwa ajili ya wananchi, hii ni kwa sababu sheria ambazo zimekuwa zikitungwa zmekuwa za kuwakandamiza wananchi na kuipa Serikali mamlaka zaidi. Wananchi wamesema kutegemea utawala wa sheria kwa serikali iliyoiba chaguzi mbili ni kitu ambacho hakiwezekani. Serikali ya Tanzania ipo juu ya sheria kwani haifuati sheria na taratibu za nchi. Mfano hai ni yale yanayotokea Loliondo ambapo Serikali imevunja sheria shera ya ardhi ya vijiji na sheria ya mali asili ya wanyama pori kwa kitendo cha kuwatoa wamasai kwenye ardhi yao kwa kutumia mtutu wa bunduki. Mahakama ya Afrika Mashariki ambayo imeanzishwa na umoja wan chi za Arika Mashaiki ilitoa zuio kwa Serikali ya Tanzania kutokufanya chochote kwenye ardhi ya Loliondo ambayo ina mgogoro mpaka pale ambapo mahakama itakapo toa hukumu yake, lakini serikali ya Tanzania ilikiuka uwajibu wake wa mikataba ya kimataifa.  

Serikali kupitia chama tawala (Chama cha Mapinduzi) kimevikumbatia vyombo vya dola abavyo vinatakiwa kufanya kazi kwa kuzingatia katiba, weledi na sheria vyombo hivyo vimekua vikifanya kazi kama mawakili wa chama kikuu. Wananchi hawaoni kama kuna haja ya maridhiano kama bado wanavunjiwa sheria na serikali kama inavyooekana kwa wamachinga ambao bado wanaendelea kuonewa na sheria kandamizi zinaendelea kuwepo. Wananchi wameweka wazi kuwa wanahitaji taifa huru kwani katiba ya sasa inapitisha ufalme katika nchi iliyohuru.

The Tanzanian government has been seen to enact laws for itself and not for the people, this is because the laws that have been enacted have been primarily created to oppress the people and give the government more power. Citizens have stated that relying on the rule of law in a government that stole votes in two consecutive elections is something that is impossible. The government of Tanzania is above the law because it does not follow the laws and procedures of the country. A vivid example was cited from the current case in Loliondo, where the Government has broken the village land law and the natural property law of wild animals by removing the Maasai from their land at gunpoint. The East African Court which was established by the Union of the Eat African States gave an injunction to the Government of Tanzania not to do anything on the land of Loliondo which is in dispute until the court gives its judgment, but the Government of Tanzania violated its responsibility on international agreements.

The government through the ruling party (Chama cha Mapinduzi) has embraced government agencies that are supposed to work in accordance with the constitution, professionalism and law, and these institutions have grown to work as a tool to curtail citizen oppression by the ruling party. The people do not see the need for reconciliation if laws are still being violated by the government and oppressive laws continue to exist. The people have made it clear that they need a free nation as the current constitution entertains and accommodates authoritarian government in a free country.
